I seem to have this thing about wearing Josh’s clothes lately.  It’s probably something to do with the fact that my baby bump (did you miss that rather important announcement? haha) is in that awkward stage where it’s just not big enough to be obviously a baby yet, so I’m trying to keep everything flowy and layered until I properly “pop”.  My form-fitting clothes reveal a puffy tummy that, unless informed otherwise, you would probably just think was due to over-indulgence at Christmas.  And post-Christmas-puffball is not exactly the look I’m after.  So it’s loose, flowy layers for now!  Raiding hubby’s wardrobe is fun anyways :)

I love having pieces in my wardrobe that are like little relics of places I’ve travelled.  I lived in England for a year, in Manchester, and it was during that time I picked up this fantastic scarf.  The earrings came from a random little boutique/gift shop somewhere along the Bay of Fundy coastline in eastern Canada.
Every time I wear pieces like these, I’m reminded of the sights and sounds of far away places :)

Speaking of travelling, I haven’t really done any since Josh and I went to NYC this past summer, and I’m getting the bug again.  I would fly over to the UK in a heartbeat, but I heard that cross-Atlantic flights are not recommended for pregnant women because of the low oxygen levels at high altitude.  If you’ve flown while pregnant, or know someone who has, I’d love to hear if it is actually possible!

Hope you all have a great day today - it’s freezing here and I just can’t wait till spring!

  2. I love the chunky socks with boots look, you look great. I tried this last week and looked rubbish haha, I need to take note of how you have done it (think my socks weren't thick enough or long enough) I saw the news about baby :) exciting times. I would be the same though about not wanting to show the bump until it really is a bump (it is one of the things I worry about for when I do actually get pregnant, I am so shallow haha) but you look lovely :)

I haven't heard of anyone doing long haul whilst pregnant, sorry hun.

  8. I flew a bunch between my 27th and 31st week of pregnancy and still birthed a healthy little boy. It was just within the U.S. so I'm not sure about traveling overseas. Your doctor or midwife might know???

p.s. LOVE the outfit and your creativity!

  9. The colors in this outfit are gorgeous! You have such an amazing, colorful sense of style. And you are a musician! That's awesome, I started college as a music major (piano and voice too!), but ended up switching halfway through.

  10. Hi Katie!

You look so beautiful!! Purple is one of my favorite colors, I love how vibrant this scarf is (without being too crazy bright!) So pretty. You've done such an amazing job working in the different designs in this outfit - it looks great all together.

Thanks so much for linking up with Style Sessions this week - it was lovely to have you! I look forward to seeing you again next Tuesday afternoon!
